Hindustan Power Exchange (HPX) is a licensed power exchange that provides an automated electronic platform for trading electricity, renewable energy certificates (RECs), and ancillary services with physical delivery across India. The exchange enables transparent price discovery and efficient clearing and settlement for utilities, generators, traders, industrial consumers, and renewable developers under CERC’s Power Market Regulations 2021. Since commencing operations in July 2022, HPX has rapidly scaled volumes, handling about 11 billion units in FY24 and emerging as a key player in the term‑ahead and real‑time power markets.
