About Teesta Valley Tea
Teesta Valley Tea Co. is an old Kolkata-based tea plantation company, incorporated in 1876 and listed on the Calcutta Stock Exchange. Its website says the business dates from 1841 and grows tea on the Teesta Valley and Gielle estates in Darjeeling, with the wider group also holding the Ouphulia and Bormahjan estates in Assam and gardens in the Dooars. The group sells loose and packaged teas in India and abroad through Teesta Valley Exports Limited. The exchange's record names Bharat Bajoria, Abha Bajoria and R K Dixit as directors; no primary document giving the shareholding was found.
